Homestead Master Bedroom

The original cabin, Bessie’s Cabin, was built in 1953 and is approximately 1000 sq. ft. with two bedrooms, a full bath, knotty pine kitchen, and living room area. In 2000, Jack Mountain Builders added approximately 2000 sq. ft onto Bessie’s Cabin, which is now named the Homestead Cabin. 100+ year old logs from the property’s original homestead building were re-stacked to create a 660 sq foot great room with a brand new kitchen and living room complete with a large Montana Moss Rock fireplace. The lower level provides additional recreation, office or sleeping space as well as a utility room. The Master Bedroom has an attached tile bathroom with a walk-in double shower.

Bessie’s Cabin was kept as an additional guest cabin. There is a double privacy door between the two areas, thus the house can be perfect for one large family or a caretaker or guests can utilize Bessie’s Cabin separately. The home is located on 1.387 acres of private land.

In addition, there is a finished log-sided studio room located about 100 feet from the back deck of the Homestead Cabin and an older log garage.

The property is bordered by State lands and Bear Canyon Trail and New World Gulch Trail are just a very short walking distance away. A secluded, quiet mountain feeling is obtained without having to own all the surrounding acreage nor are you isolated without neighbors close-by.

Since 2001 all or part of the property has been used as vacation home rental. Though the business itself will not be formally sold -- certain aspects of the business can convey if desired. These include the past guest list, logo and web site, stationary and brochures. Inquire for more details. Another option, rather than operating the vacation home business yourself would be to hire a local management firm like Mountain Home (see www.mountain-home.com) to oversee all reservations and property maintenance.
